King James Version

The King James Version of the Bible was first printed in Great Britain in 1611. For over 300 years it has been the main English Bible translation used in the English speaking world. About 300 words and phrases coined or popularised by the King James Version are part of the English language today.

The King James Version is Crown copyright in the United Kingdom. The paragraphing and sub-titles added to the text in 1954 are copyright the British and Foreign Bible Society.
